While most great BBQ pitmasters were born from a long line of family pitmasters and hand-me-down recipes, the Holy Smokes BBQ pitmaster, Isaac Williams’ story is a little different - born only from a love of food, experimentation, and watching people’s faces light up when they take that first bite of something they know they love.  He started in the backyard with a barrel pit and added over 20 yrs of experience from mentors Gene Rushing and Terry Lynn McKenzie who taught patience and technique.  Since 2003, the pitmaster has been catering parties for family, friends, communities, non-profit and private companies in and around Houston - everything from small family parties to Quinceañeras and other large events. In 2013, he decided to jump in head first leaving his career in education and open the location at 9850 Mesa Road in Houston, Texas.
